The title of my performance Die Kunst ist TOD, und sie lebt doch* denotes my attempt to find a new īdefinition of the conventional idea of art.
What is really important about art in our days is - to my way of thinking - not so much the artistic expression of the artistīs individuality in his works, but rather the conveyance to his contemporary of characteristic experiences of the human being in generel through the artistīs creations.
To better recognize what it means to be a human being, in my opinion, must become more and more the main opject of art as I understand it.

*Art is death, but yet alive

By my first performance of the triptych Die Kunst ist TOD, und sie lebt doch I tried to introduce my visitors slowly into my ideas.

Part I
Three human dummies, filled with water, were burnt in three cells of steel. The heat destroyed the dummies, and what was left of them was just water flowing down through an outlet into a box. The water which had formerly been in the dummies is now preserved in sealid glas ressels bearing the label Zell-Brennstoff Mensch - Everything remains inside, only water is coming out. A symbol of human existence.
Specially composed techno-tracks formed a convenient backround to the three parts of the performance.

Technical equipment:
Booster Akkuphase - 9.000 watts
Speaker JBL

Part II, DO UT DES
I created a silk-screen print with the inscription: DO UT DES MUNICH. The color consisted of red pigment and the blood from 123 visitors.
The inscription MUNICH reminds of the first place of performance of the following travelling exhibition.
(I hope) I will be able to print a silk-screen in as many cities as possible.

Part III, Man is art
In part III of the performance I had myself fixed in a frame of steel and, in horizontal position, lifted to the height of 50 m. Illuminated by a spot I showed the visitors man as work of art in the night sky.

The second part of the trilogy Die Kunst ist TOD, und sie lebt doch will especially deal with the human body as a picture.
(I hope) you will be able to see it in the world-wide-web soon and enjoy its performance resp. exposition.
